Kaname Tajima

Member of the House of Representatives

A native of Nagoya, Aichi, Mr. Tajima attended the University of Tokyo and earned MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was elected for the first time in 2003 after working at NTT, International Finance Corporation, and Smart Communications for 17 years. He was named as the Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in the reshuffled Naoto Kan cabinet. After the earthquake and tsunami in northeast Japan, he stayed in Fukushima as the head of field task force for the Fukushima nuclear accident from June to September 2011. Now Mr. Tajima is commissioner of the Committee of Economy, Trade and Industry and commissioner of the Special Committee on Reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
